Northeast Herron Island buoy

Northeast Herron Island buoy

Moored just off the northeast coast of Herron Island, this middle mooring ball of three located just north of the ferry ramp offers a peaceful waypoint in Case Inlet. Herron Island—a private, community‑managed gem in South Puget Sound—is renowned for its dense shoreline forest and remarkable wildlife. Boat guests frequently spot harbor seals, deer along the tide line, bald eagles, herons, otters, porpoises, and even the occasional orca or humpback whale passing through the inlet. The calm waters nearby are ideal for kayaking, paddle‑boarding, and gentle fishing excursions. 🌿 *No island access. Several floating docks and neighboring buoys are nearby. Please be courteous to neighbors by keeping noise to a minimum during your visit.*
